Product Manager | Buying - International Women's Wear High Fashion Brand - Noida location


Designation: Product Manager - Buying – International High end Women's Wear Fashion Label

Location: Noida, India

Remuneration on offer: 15-18 lacs p.a

Company profile: One of India’s biggest & most well known Retail Market leaders.

Summary of Requisite Skills: 
Keen sense/understanding of buying behaviour & preferences of Indian women consumers of high end everyday fashion, fabrics, seasons, spending behaviour, well seasoned expert in selection of clothing & accessories ranges for women consumers of age groups 15 to 35 years old. Product selection, Cost negotiation and Vendor Management, Margin Achievement, Inventory Management and  Routine Analysis. Responsible for Buying & Selecting stock for stores across India, stock replenishment management, Competitor surveys, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To deliver a fashion Forward Range of products for Indian retail, in line with Company brand handwriting and market positioning. 
  • Responsible for trend interpretation, directing the international team in Australia of India requirements, buying strategy to ensure successful achievement of sales and profit budgets.

Requisite Experience:
  • Expert & seasoned Product knowledge
  • Computer literacy and proficiency MS office (EXCEL, OUTLOOK, POWERPOINT & WORD)
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a senior buyer role within retail fashion, and preferably International Fashion.

KPIs [Key Performance Indicators]
Trend Knowledge and Direction:
  • Assess local market trends to give design direction, identify missed opportunity to potentialise sale and profit
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of market, competitors and customer requirements.
Team management & Development:
  • Maximize team performance through effective people management.
  • Anticipate and manage change, leading teams through the process.
  • Develop skills of the team by identifying individual training needs and motivating and encouraging effective teamwork.
  • Provide regular ongoing  feedback  in addition to the annual performance reviews.

Financial Accountability:
  • Respond to sales and market data to support commercial decisions to direct to your team to maximize profits.
  • Generate new ideas to improve sales and profit performance for the business.
  • Lead the trading of the department, in collaboration with the planning manager, to optimize profit from stock investment.
  • Deliver the strategic direction of the department by ensuring that post seasonal strengths and weaknesses are assessed to enable future like for like growth.
  • Strong understanding of financial levels of the business.
Brand Development:
  • To provide strategic direction and input to the development of your product areas.
  • Plan, enforce and assess key deadlines to buying team with respect to the business priority on a weekly basis
  • Awareness of stock flow and forward commitment and sales forecast.
Range Building:
  • Drive product pricing strategy to support brand direction
  • Ensure your categories deliver innovation , speed to market and calculated risk in new trends
  • Ensure range reflects climate needs according to agreed business timing
  • Provide ongoing input and recommendation to the HQ product team with respect to all ranges, to ensure company strategy is being translated across all categories.
Requisite skill sets:
  • Should be educated in either textile fashion or a retail based enterprise.
  • Should be detail oriented and confident.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel & MIS Reports.
  • Possess strong analytic and presentation skills.
Requisite Personal & Professional Abilities:
  • A thought & design leader with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff at all levels and work under pressure.
  • Ability to utilise case studies, polls, survey group results & personal research findings towards
  • impeccable selection & procurement of merchandise.
  • Visible decision making ability with execution to conclusion capability.
  • Professionally sound, having grown in a highly sophisticated, competitive business environment
  • Should be well known & deeply networked in the industry.
  • Generating healthy business relationships with leading professionals and corporate houses.
Academic background
A Graduate degree in Arts, Garment Design and Manufacturing, Retail Marketing, Home Science [Textiles/Clothing], etc is preferred. Masters/PG in Marketing, Fashion Technology, Luxury Retail, Design, Merchandising, Apparel technology, Print, Textile, Merchandise Marketing, etc is preferred.
